Constructivist Writings is the reading space for Constructivist Lives.
In this space, I explore the ideas behind the work: Constructivism, digital collage, public language, visual poetry, memory, identity, pressure, belonging, and the strange afterlife of old symbols in contemporary design.
Some writings begin with a finished image. Others begin with a question, a phrase, a political memory, a piece of art history, or a visual problem I am trying to understand.
These are not casual studio notes. They are essays and reflections about why the work exists, what it responds to, and how images can carry meaning beyond decoration.
Some pieces connect directly to artwork or shop collections. Others may stand on their own as part of the larger conversation within Constructivist Lives.
If the shop is where you can find available work and merchandise, this page is where you can see the conversation before the art is created. Sometimes, it simply stays a conversation.
RECENT WRITINGS: These essays and reflections explore the ideas, images, histories, and personal questions behind Constructivist Lives.
