Strategic Communication | Creative Operations | Workflow Improvement | Brand-Safe Production
I am beginning to explore the next chapter in my career.
For more than a decade, I have worked inside corporate production and communication environments where design, service, deadlines, brand standards, and people all meet at the same time.
My work has never been only about making things look good. It has been about helping people clarify what they need, organize the work, protect the message, improve the process, and deliver something polished, useful, and on time.
I am now looking for the right role where this mix of communication, design, coordination, production knowledge, and process improvement is recognized as real organizational value.
What I Do Best
I help turn unclear requests into clear, organized, professional outcomes.
That can mean building a better intake process, improving a production workflow, preparing brand-safe visual materials, coordinating with stakeholders, documenting a process, helping a team adopt a better tool, or translating a rough idea into something that can actually be produced and used.
My strongest work happens when there is a gap between what people need and how the work is currently being done. I tend to notice what is missing, what is unclear, what is slowing people down, and what could be improved. Then I help turn that into a better system, a better message, or a better final product.
The Kind of Work I Am Looking For
I am especially interested in roles connected to strategic communication, creative operations, communications project management, internal communications, brand coordination, public engagement, marketing communications, workflow improvement, production operations, equity-centered communication, and mission-driven communication work.
I am not looking for a role that treats communication, design, production, and coordination as invisible support work. I am looking for a place where these skills are understood as part of how an organization builds trust, improves service, and communicates with clarity.
What I Bring
Strategic Communication
I hold a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication from Washington State University’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication.
My communication work is grounded in audience awareness, clarity, ethics, message purpose, and the ability to connect ideas to real people. I care about communication that does something useful. It should explain, organize, invite, clarify, persuade, or help people make better decisions.
Creative Production and Design
My background includes corporate print production, graphic design, file preparation, brand-safe layout, visual problem-solving, and production-ready execution.
I understand the difference between something that looks good on screen and something that will actually work in production. I bring strong experience with Adobe Creative Suite, print and digital assets, production workflows, visual hierarchy, and practical design decisions that support both the customer and the team producing the work.
Workflow and Process Improvement
I am often the person who sees where the process is breaking down.
I have helped improve documentation, standardize production steps, organize materials, support enterprise onboarding, improve tracking tools, and bring more consistency to daily operations.
In my current embedded corporate production role, I was rated Outstanding and recognized by my manager as a key contributor to a major Ricoh-to-FedEx transition. That work included rebrand design, operational documentation, production scheduling support, workflow organization, production tracking, Avanti catalog organization, and supply consolidation.
Client and Stakeholder Communication
I have spent years working with internal corporate customers, managers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
I know how to listen carefully, ask practical questions, manage expectations, and explain options in a way that helps people move forward. I am comfortable working with people who know what they want emotionally, but need help turning that idea into a clear scope, realistic timeline, and finished product.
Innovation and Practical Technology
I enjoy improving how work gets done.
I have brought new tools, better documentation, Excel-based improvements, AI-assisted workflow thinking, and practical process updates into production environments.
For me, innovation does not mean chasing every new trend. It means asking a simple question: can this help the team work more clearly, consistently, and effectively?
Multicultural and Equity-Centered Perspective
As a bilingual English and Russian speaker, immigrant, parent, and longtime equity volunteer, I bring a lived understanding of communication across cultures, identities, and systems.
I have served on the Equity Advisory Committee for Evergreen Public Schools and have contributed to work focused on belonging, access, visibility, and inclusive communication.
This perspective shapes how I think about audience, trust, language, and public-facing messages.
Recent Strengths Recognized by Leadership
In my recent performance evaluation, my manager recognized me as a key contributor during a major enterprise transition and described my impact across several areas:
Rebrand design and operational documentation. Production scheduling and enterprise support feedback. Production tracking improvements. Workflow organization. Distribution standardization. Avanti catalog organization. Supply consolidation. Use of emerging technology and practical tools. Knowledge-sharing and process improvement. Positive influence on team engagement during transition.
I was also recognized for innovation, including my willingness to challenge the status quo, experiment with better tools, and help move processes into a more modern environment.
Selected Experience
Corporate Print, Design, and Creative Production
I currently work as a Design Consultant in an embedded corporate production environment supporting the Fred Meyer/Kroger main office in Portland.
My work includes customer consultation, design support, production coordination, brand-safe execution, file preparation, workflow improvement, and daily problem-solving across a wide range of requests.
Before the transition to FedEx Office, I spent more than ten years with Ricoh USA supporting corporate print services in the Portland area, including work at both adidas and Fred Meyer/Kroger environments.
Communication, Media, and Public-Facing Work
My background also includes video, broadcasting, public communication, and digital media work through earlier roles with Clark/Vancouver Television, Educational Service District 112, and freelance creative projects.
I have developed communication plans, advocacy campaigns, websites, written content, visual identity materials, and public-facing projects connected to social impact, education, equity, foster care awareness, and community engagement.
Independent Projects
My independent work includes publishing and promoting my mother’s memoir, Always With Hope, building the companion website LyudmilaOparina.com, developing content and visual systems for MikhailOparin.com, and creating communication-centered projects such as Embrace the Spectrum, Foster Washington, Vancouver Arts LIVE, ClearSpace Planning, and Constructivist Lives.
These projects reflect the same pattern that shows up in my professional work: I build structure around ideas so they can be seen, understood, shared, and used.
Roles That Fit Me Best
The roles that make the most sense for my next step include creative operations, communications project management, marketing communications, internal communications, brand coordination, public engagement, equity-centered communication, creative services, production operations, communication systems, and client experience work.
The exact title matters less than the purpose of the role. I am looking for work where communication, design, coordination, and process improvement come together.
What Kind of Team Should Hire Me
A team should hire me if they need someone who can make messy work clearer, improve communication between people and departments, translate ideas into practical deliverables, protect quality and brand standards, build better workflows and documentation, support customers with patience and professionalism, and bring creative judgment and operational discipline together.
I am especially interested in organizations that care about clarity, public trust, inclusive communication, practical creativity, and continuous improvement.
What I Am Looking For Now
I am not rushing into just any job. I am looking for the right next role.
I want to join an organization where my experience can grow into a stronger leadership path, where communication and creative operations are valued, and where practical improvements are supported instead of ignored.
I bring a lot of experience, but I am also still learning, growing, and looking for the next place where I can contribute for the long term.
If your organization needs someone who can bring clarity, design judgment, communication skill, production knowledge, and process improvement into one role, I would be glad to connect.
