From Baikonur to Vancouver: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Human Spaceflight

On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin became the first human in space. His flight on Vostok 1 marked a historic milestone in space exploration. Nearly 40 years later, Gherman Titov, the second man in space, visited Vancouver, Washington, unveiling connections between local history and the broader narrative of human spaceflight.
